Free Geek Penn is a computer refurbishing and e-waste recycling company located in Ephrata, PA. The organization, which opened in 2004, receives computer and other electronic equipment donated by schools, businesses and the public, inspects and sorts it and send items that can be reused or refurbished out to Free Geek Penn techs.

Equipment refurbished or reformatted by Free Geek Penn is sold at a lower cost at the organization’s store or is donated to the handicapped, elderly, Military Vets and children in need, as well as to local nonprofits. Items that cannot be reused are recycled.

Equipment to be recycled is dismantled and sorted by volunteers, like Listrak employees contributing VTO hours, IU13 school-to-work programs and handicap adult programs. The dismantled parts are shipped to other recyclers to help defray Free Geek Penn’s overhead costs.
